Yes, but that's not what you said/implied the first time around with "a GTG wouldn't be interested in the money side of it". Marrying for a relationship is not the same as not being interested in money. If a guy were a pauper, then it would be game off, I guarantee it. But that doesn't mean she wants his money, but he'd better have some. And tokens of affection can be extreme. Witness Tata's engagement gift of B100m or the Taj Mahal for examples! They all work for one of the biggest Thai property developer. They all have at least a bachelor and some of them have MBA. All of them come from rather poor families except 2 of them (Chinese-Thai and very wealthy families). Some of them are very beautiful, some cute, some average. Their English goes from average, but good enough to even talk about architecture, to excellent. (studying abroad helps to develop language skills) Common points: - They are all young ladies under 30 years old. - They all have some pretty good salaries (for Thai standards) - They all had a few boyfriends, usually 1 or 2. - They all had negative experiences with Thai men (middle class Thai men usually not a drunken uneducated vilalge idiot) - They are all open to the idea to have a foreign boyfriend/husband but they never have the opportunity and usually the few ones decent enough to interest them are already taken... . I would say half of these women use TLL . None of these ladies is after money, of course financial security is positive but they are not after that at all. This said, the other hald of my lady's friends/colleagues. These friends have the same qualities as the single ones except that they are married. These women are all married to middle (or upper middle) class Thai men. I met some of these husbands and they are great people, well educated, curious about the world, not openly xenophobic etc... All in all? Some GTG are lucky to find a good Thai husband but the others are not lucky and thus are ready to go with a foreigner. Just that none of the ladies I talked to is ready to allow an age gap of more than 5-8 years, they do not wish an uneducated sod, they request someone not too ugly, they refuse butterflies etc...They are looking for normal guys, the problem is: In Thailand there are not many normal foreigners (read: Not butterflies or going to the bars) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Watergate (which really didn't and still doesn't phase me) aside, he wasn't a bad president in many respects. Now the guys don't want whores, they don't want BG's they want a nice girl... who fucks! They don't want commitment, they don't want to get all tied down, they don't need endless dating and meeting of friends family and colleagues et-al... they want to fuck, nice girls! It seems that is a difference between Asian countries and a lot of western ones. In the western countries even nice girls fuck, or there are no nice girls, whatever. We're not talking butterflying or hanging out in go-go's or buying whore's, not that that's a problem but it's just not something the people I'm thinking of would be too interested in. But as a part of a regular healthy relationship and from a fairly early stage they want to fuck. I get asked about this all the time from both sides and I'm just loathe to try and play cupid.
