Stop the jobs, stop the flow of illegals coming in. It is that fucking simple really. Same taxes paid to jail the employers instead of the illegals coming in to work for them, less actually once it was enforced and the employers saw the gov was actually serious about this shit. It's not rocket science. It just takes the balls and the will to enforce the laws, and to increase the penalties for the people giving them the work they are sneaking over to make money from. It's all smoke and mirrors and PC political bullshit, from both major political parties. Get it done you pussies! Just like a few other things, there is no collective will to end illegal immigration. When this topic came up in the past I said it was a non starter and still think so. I think its a 'lost cause' frankly. Democrats wont risk aleinating a segment of their party and any Republican seeking national office knows he will be labled a racist, bigot or such similar tag if he speaks out too much about it. Its one of those things that will take either a) a terrorist act or A latino. Just like it took a southerner to get civil rights done and a Democrat close to blacks to change welfare (Clinton) or a virulent anti communist (Nixon) to recognize red China. Interesting thing is there are deep rifts in the latino community from south of the border. Legal and long standing Mexican Americans aren't too fond of the new arrivals. Their relatives don't need to come become they (like numerous immigrants the world over in the U.S.) send enough money back home to keep their relations in a fairly good standard of living. He then went on to happily say that if you add up all the money that he's created by sending so many illegal aliens to America from Mexico and all the money that Mexicans in America legally make, Mexico would be the fourth largest economy. OK, you can stop laughing at the idiocy of his statement regarding taking credit for what legal residents here make. Salvadoreans and Mexicans hate each other. The illegals and Mexican Americans are not united in the prisons. They are two separate distinct groups. The Mexican mafia are the natives and the term coined for the illegals are the 'border boys' and they actually don't get along and do not associate (don't ask how I know..lol). All the latin americans hate the Mexicans. They consider the Mexicans 'north Americans' not 'latin Americans' (technically true actually). There are very conservative Mexican Americans in Texas and the southwest. They have been in the U.S. for generations and are Mexican in ancestry only. They are culturally American or regionally southwestern U.S. Immigration from south of the border will (if it hasn't already) reach the point where it will be rendered irrelevant because so many will be here it will have changed the landscape of America, at least regionally if not nationally to some extent. Under Bush some illegals were caught working in the USA - they were working on the wall seperating the USA from Mexico. Walmart has been caught way too many times hiring illegals. It is easy to blame the employer who can not tell which documents are legal from those that are illegal. No blame goes to the Border Patrol who refuse to patrol the border. Do nothing is the best answer...let more come...never mind facts... Blacks and Latinos in LA do not get along at all. There are numerous racially based fights in school as well as in prison. Interestingly enough both groups live in the same neighborhoods in south central and compton (both of them are actually majority latin and not black) and they do not associate. I grew up with puerto ricans who mixed freely with blacks. I have a lot of latino friends in LA and the one thing they always say is 'You're not LA, you're different'. (Plus I speak a bit of puerto rican spanglish as well). I've seen blacks and whites together talk about 'the mexicans' at work. Its the one thing blacks and whites can be united on in LA at least. I speak to everyone. Latinos are taken aback when I make small talk with them. Being from the east coast and the spanglish helps a great deal in breaking the ice. Housekeepers in my neck of the woods get $20 to $25 per hour. They are ALL of Mexican descent. Day laborers at the local home depot get $15 to $20 per hour. They are all of Mexican descent too.
