Coss
“He’s certainly living up to the caricature of being a mad king,” said Kurt Bardella. “When you’re addressing a ballroom in a tuxedo, telling people to take the painful medicine, or on your umpteenth golf vacation while economic chaos is rippling throughout this country and others, at best, you’re completely out of touch. “At worst, you’re a sociopathic narcissist who doesn’t give a crap about anyone suffering. Ultimately there will be a political price to pay for that.” --- On Tuesday, in bow tie and tuxedo, Trump told a fundraising dinner in Washington: “I know what the hell I’m doing.” He claimed that the tariffs were forcing world leaders to negotiate with him, boasting: “I’m telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my ass. They are. They are dying to make a deal.” --- Larry Sabato, the director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, said: “Let them eat cake: Marie Antoinette kind of fits. He won his own golf tournament at his own club. How about that? Bill Clinton also cheated at golf a lot and people would let him win because he was president. It’s just the way they are. Rules don’t apply.” ---
Old Hippie
As of yet, Not one country has been named as wanting to “make a deal.” Likewise, of all the “waste and fraud” found, not any proof has been given nor any arrests made etc…all lip service the magats cling to when not yelling “…what about Hillary..?”
bust
Agree. I actually think the rest of the World are making plans and doing deals that don't involve the US. China is now filling the void with beef imports from the US with Australian beef. Phones electronics etc are now going to be cheaper here as surplus stock will need to be moved.
buffalo_bill
I watched a video showing Trump speaking at the "kiss my ass" - dinner. A masterpiece of vulgarity, you should look it up somewhere. Never heard of Kurt Bardella, wise words indeed.

China has the upper hand via debt. This is leverage. “Calling it in” (which some say is impossible), would result in a stronger Yuan/Rimbi maybe BRIC and could thus hurt their exports and/or move it the the new reserve currency. The “fear” is they could call it in, tank the USA markets, buy low, then loan again… The dump has proven the USA is no longer an ally that can be trusted and thus support is shifting. The arrogant will say “china wouldn’t dare” but who is to really say? The dump has already started backing down. I can see Xi making a move for Taiwan in the next few years.
buffalo_bill
President Donald of the United States still waiting for somebody kissing his huge ass in the meantime has decided to reduce tariffs on a lot of electronic equipment maybe because the Apple-man paid a million for his inauguration or somebody happened to explain this idiot how much 145 % tariffs might endanger America becoming great again. "Again" most likely covering the Confederate states with negroes working the cotton fields. The world is watching an unbelievable spectacle while the managing folks at Walmart or Toys "R" us might start thinking about making many people redundant. What President Donald obviously does not get is that his US countrymen decided to finance cheap supply by low interest bonds which the world has been happy to honour because the world trusts the ability of the US to pay. But due to Donald the world does not any more.
Coss
Wot all you gents said... and, a headline from down here: Review of US travel advice due amid Trump-era detentions As US authorities comb through cellphones and lock up travellers from ‘friendly’ nations, some say NZ must overhaul its advice for those heading Stateside... ----- Confused I am, does Trump's change of heart, on tariffs on cellphones, apply to non-new and used, 3 year old iPhones ? And is there a tariff on said phone, if derogatory mention of Trump is found, on said phone, or is it just Prison?
Coss
Now I'm really confused - Trump plans separate levy on exempted electronics amid trade war, Lutnick says. link So a reversal of a reversal? and Trump's retribution sends a chilling message to dissenters: Don't or else link and Crude oil prices have plummeted in the wake of US president Donald Trump's ever-changing tariff policies. link That's got to be hurting the USA oil industry, great eh? accounting for approximately 20.1% of global crude oil production as they do... Coss
“We are taking a look at Semiconductors and the WHOLE ELECTRONICS SUPPLY CHAIN in the upcoming National Security Tariff Investigations,” Trump wrote. He has tariffs on National Security? Does he know that Semiconductors are what makes TVs and Phones work? And that capitalising the words, does not make us think, that he understands them?
