You are a very wise man, but does this place really get 100s of new posts tok won(everyday). I like to check the nightlife section which is the most popular and i would be hard pressed to fin more than 7 posts over a 24 hour period.

Please let me know what your reading as i may be a bit slooow. Doesnt take more than 10 minutes to keep up to date.

Hmmm...as the Nightlife section is just one small segment of this board. Maybe you need to stretch your horizons and look at the numerous other sections. Evidently you haven't bothered to look at very active Forums section yet, but then

there is less there for those with only prurient interests !

Earlier, you praised BKKtonite...and I check that as well as some other less active boards maybe once a week. I mainly look at BKK's Pattaya section, as that's where I live, and usually find only a few new posts. Talk about inactivity!Ironically, the most popular Pattaya section thread, with numerous accumulated posts, is about 'starfish'. Ho, hum!! The second most popular thread is about 'Silent Bob' and the ongoing discussion about his proclivity for gay sex and whether it should be on the board. Boring!!

Yet, there are maybe only a half-dozen posters there that I find entertaining and informative, otherwise it is a marginal board, IMHO.

>- GoGo Ranking

>This has been up and running for almost 5 months, yet only >161 people have entered any data so far. While better than >some of the other features, I still think participation could be >much, much better.

***FWIW: I imagine that the majority who access the listings are visitors seeking the current hot or new places and not those locals who might frequent GoGo's. Having the listing ascend from the most popular to the less visited or new spots encourages readers to view only the top few and ignore the rest.

I'd suggest listing the venues alphabetically, and NOT have a rating for each place. An alphabetically listing will encourage readers to research the listing. Ratings are often misleading as a new GoGo or one with new management is often experiencing many changes and upgrades, and it may now be hot, but early rating are usually poor so the overall appearance on the listings is the place is a miss. Such a place will never attain a high rating average, unlike the well known established Go-Go which was long popular but today is currently having problems.

Reader ratings via dated posts for each GoGo, with the most recent first, will better inform viewers of current impressions. Of course, then there is the problem of how to encourage someone to post, even briefly, of their experiences ;-)

Each listing would still provide info on location and allow reader input for costs of BF's, LD and drinks.

Hi,

John_Betong:

"If it is not in your code already then maybe try in the CSS file:

img {z-index:696969;} "

Not aware of this tag, but will certainly check it out. Thanks!

"I imagine that the majority who access the listings are visitors seeking the current hot or new places and not those locals who might frequent GoGo's."

Yep, those that would be the best source for providing info for this are also those least likely to benefit from it. A bit of a problem :)

Hmm, had not considered that and I guess you have a point. Will need to give this some thought.

Sanukdee:

"I am guessing there must be at least 100 posts a day."

It obviously fluctuates, but it is usually somewhere between 200 and 300. There are days though when it goes well over that (highest I've seen was about 540).

Sanuk!

Now you say you read the board once or twice a week. Which one is it as one can assume it makes a big difference if you have to go through 10 posta a day or maybe a 100 every 3rd or 4th day.

I am a user of this board , im supposed to have fun here which at the moment i am. It is not my job to make it better, thats the owners job. Anyway if i did have suggestions he wouldnt listen to it anyway.

I am not condoning flaming but if it happens it happens, people will get tired of it and it will die on its own.

I havent flamed anyone, or insulted the king, or made any mention of child porn. and yet i was threatened with banishment........like i said its fun here, everyone thinks im an idiot, maybe i am. so what.

Any board with sex as a topic will be considered a sex forum whether you like it or not. If i am correct the nightlife(sex) part get the most interest. Personally i am not cumming here to see where i should send my children to school.

Not insulting anyonne here, but why the big push for agogo review. Like i said we all know which ones are good and which ones are not. Just stick your head in the door and see if there are a lot or few customers inside. The touts always say lookie for free. The public has voted and it has voted "I dont give a damn about agogo reviews". No disrespect intended.

I also notice when someone attempts to say something here should be done in a different they always include i little note about how they are not disrespecting anyone. I love it. What are you guys scared of.

AT the very least i got you guys riled up.

Can anyone tell me which agogo i should patronize tonight :neener:

Casanova...what a lame place, full of Katoeys, and that annoying Bartender "dominique" and "her" annoying laugh. Happy hour specials are o.k. and the Hung Nam though tastfully decorated is way to small to take a dump in. The chairs are comfortable, though I find Table #6 to have a better view of the dance floor than the others...er ah...not that I was ever in the place or anything...that might be gay... :)

Hmm it sounds like the prolific posters who routinely add useful content, photos and comments should have the opportunity to earns points or something that can go towards who knows what. Kind of like what was suggested earlier in the thread.

Maybe get some clubs, pubs or restaurants to fess up a few duckets and/or prizes in exchange for the content of Trip Reports etc.
