CTO,

I also scan a copy of all relevant documents and email them to my Hotmail account, so in the event of losing anything I can easily access all the data from wherever I am

That is a very smart idea DS I will put my data in my online account as well. My father and brother do have copy of all my data and I of theirs in case something goes wrong. But it might be a hassle reaching them if in real shit!

here we are on the same discussion again (and dozens of times done already), whether it is legally required or not to carry your passport in thailand all the time.

next step usually is that Suadum steps in and quotes his high ranking police friend that this is written in the law (without anybody able to produce a link or a copy) and claims that this is the ultimate truth! :neener:

The law, as CTO said, requires ID to be carried on person if over the age of 15. It does not specify passport, but what the coppers will accept from a foreigner is debatable. A Thai driver's license is usually OK.

Sorry, I don't happen to have a Thai legal library in my condo at the moment. If someone were totally interested I suppose they could go down to Chula and search their library. I've better things to do, so I'll trust my friend's input.

It baffles me as to why people want to fight over this requirement. Are you *really* gonna get into a fight with a cop over this, insisting it is your right to NOT carry ID? :banghead:

Cheers,

SD

Silly me to have related an experience from 8 years ago...Wow I made one call in almost two decades.I can't help it if most board members mill around the bottom of the barrell :rotl::rotl::stirthepo

In business and general functioning most people know in LOS its not really how you do it, or what you do, its who your friends are and what clan they come from.

Like P127 and my friend the photographer-adios!!

I've been through Ekkamai station many times and can't remember ever seeing a single cop hanging around let alone a gaggle of them.

Up until a few days ago I would have said the same. But then I did see some cops hanging around at the arrivals and they seemed to call over a couple of farang guys just ahead of me.

Obviously some guys look like they're more likely carriers of Viagra than others. :)

And the police must know they're more likely to find Viagra clones than yaba so maybe pick their targets accordingly.

so what is this about Viagra? Is the real Viagra = ok but clones is illegal? If it is all illegal, why do they sell it over the counter? Since when is the LOS worried about copyrights?

I had jet lag and the good doc at the drugstore gave me something stronger than the Advil PM I was looking for. I know you would need a prescription for it in the USA.

I also bought Vitamin V in the LOS but always go for the real deal.
