Please do come here and try it -- I may even pay someone to visit you in prison 55555, but prolly not. Would you do this in your home country, get caught with the legal equivalent of a scheduled narcotic and tell the coppers to fuck off? In the States, that'd get you tasered and thrown in the clink for a couple of days before they decide to charge you with possession that would get you up to 7 years and/or a $50k fine. Are you really sure you want to trust some third world justice system to not do even worse? The OP was nailed and guilty. He was very lucky to get off as he did. Wouldn't happen in farangland. The worst thing that can happen to an expat if they persue a case where they are nailed stone cold guilty is deportation and declared PNG on top of any fines / jail time handed down and I know damn well I could not afford to be deported. Never pay them money. Tell them you want to go to court! They'll probably let you go as soon as they figure there's no money in it for them and you are going to expose them. 5. If its sold in shops then is it illegal? Exactly. No way in hell this could cause a serious problem for the OP if he had challenged them. His offence' date=' if indeed it was an offence, was so minor that if demanded beeing taken to the police station would cost him max a couple of hundred bath. There is this deep rooted urban legend in the foreign community that police can do whatever they want, but they can't. They need a court order to deport you for Christ sake. Then again, maybe the OP had some more monkey business he feared would come uncovered, like working illegally... Anyway, I agree with the OP that he fit the profile, the police were probably looking for guys that looked like [Removed - KS']. Paillote If you get arrested, is your read and write Thai excellent? Nowhere did I ever recomend telling the police to "fuck off", which would have been amazingly stupid indeed. But instead of settling on the spot, he should have demanded to settle on the police station and all would have boiled into nothing. Maybe it is a big offence not to carry the prescription on your body in la-la land where you come from, but certainly not in the real world.
