I'm eagerly awaiting HH's reply.

I think even HH' date=' if he is honest, would admit to liking this guy, in fact I bet HH has a "Go Obama" sticker on his windsreen.[/quote']

Actually, that sticker is plastered on my toilet.

Other than that, I don't personally dislike the guy. He's what you call charismatic. I just don't like his view of what should be done with respect to certain things. And I don't want to live in a socialist country. (Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard all the crap before about already living in one, blah, blah, blah. To an extent, I agree, but we do need to turn the pages back about 60 years.)

HH, your toilet isn't one of those porcelein thingamajigs that is also used as an alter?

Even Rush Limbaugh refers to Obama as the Anointed One, the Messiah.

SD,

Saw an article in today's paper about that comic.

First, I had no idea of the story behind the comic, so actually I didn't get the whole thing. Thought first it was the proverbial "monkey off my back" - but that really didn't make sense. Then thought that the police were killing the Republicans who sided with Obama's Democrats to pass the bill.

But that too wasn't clear - so just forgot about it.

Then after reading the paper, 'Googled' it:

New York Post

So, after knowing the background of the story, the comic still makes no sense to me.

Is "Socialist" the new word for "liberal?"

Of course, to a reasonable limit. But we also believe in a level playing field. Therefore regulation needs to be enforced. Otherwise, the big eat the small, the rich take unfair advantage, and things cock up.

Before you scream, think about it: pure capitalism would mean one supplier for each product (unfettered "survival of the fittest"). That leads to monopolies. That's bad for everyone.

If pure capitalism were nature, then there would be only one mammal, one fish, one insect, etc.

Cheers,

SD
